We're on the move!!
In about 7 months that is :)
In what feels like a complete whirlwind ( in a good way! ) we've made some pretty big decisions and lifestyle changes. In a matter of a week we have-
a. decided to build a new house
b. secured the last walk out lot available in our current neighborhood
c. put my mom's house up for sale
WHAT?! I'm trying my hardest not to be jumping up and down excited because I have to wait 7 months, but I'm still damn excited!
Here's what's going on..
My Mom has stayed in Red Deer since my Dad passed away earlier this year. It's been hard for her because my sister and I are both and hour and a half away. My girls and I have made a trip up to visit every week, but that still leaves Mom with a whole lot of days to fill. With an aging house that my Dad really took care of, she's ready to pick up and start fresh. New city, new house. Here's where the walk out comes in :)
Just a few blocks away from our current house is a wonderful pond. It's mature and serene and one of my Mom's favorite places to walk every time she comes to visit. We're going to build a big ol house with a walkout facing the pond, and Mom will have her own little suite with us. It's going to be amazing! I'm already planning and decorating Mom's space :) So she'll have us when she needs us, have her own space and the opportunity to start fresh. My kids are OVER THE MOON! You can imagine I'm already pulling inspiration for the house..
like..
fireplaces.. I need to decide on a profile and I'm loving both of these spaces that have been done by Alice Lane-
I'm not going to mount a TV, so I'll have an amazing spot for some wicked art.. I'm thinking I need to talk to Jenny ( MFAMB ).. right?!
